MEA unveils Victoria and Tasmania’s best sparkies

Master Electricians Australia (MEA) has unveiled the cream of the crop for Victoria and Tasmania at its Excellence Awards.

In a star-studded field of finalists, Argus Technologies of Mulgrave took out the Master Electrician of the Year Award for being at the forefront in energy efficiency and internal safety systems. The company was also awarded the Residential Project of the Year Award for its work on a state of the art home automation on a four-storey house boat.

The Woman in Contracting Award went to Sally Liddell of Right Connection Electrical who performs tasks ranging from marketing, working on the tools and the day-to-day running of the business. Chris Hargrave took out the Legrand Apprentice of the Year Award for his strong commitment to electrical safety in his role at Britton Electrical Solutions.

Meanwhile, other winners were Clinton Richards (Tradie of the Year), Kuga Electrical (Energy Efficiency Project of the Year), and Byrd Electrical (Commercial Project of the Year).

MEA CEO Malcolm Richards congratulated all finalists, noting that the judges had an almighty task in awarding the winners for each category.

“MEA members in Victoria and Tasmania are some of the most skilled and professional electricians within the industry across Australia and today’s Excellence Awards highlight that fact,” Mr Richards said.

“The project awards demonstrate the cutting-edge and innovative work that is taking place within the electrical industry and the calibre of finalists was staggeringly high.

“MEA members pride themselves on displaying the highest levels of quality, safety and integrity, and the winners of the individual awards epitomised these attributes in spades.

“I congratulate all eight winners, along with the finalists for each category, but I should note that the biggest winners are in fact their customers who have been the beneficiaries of their dedication, skill and professionalism.”

All seven winners are listed below and will now go on to compete in the National Master Electricians Excellence Awards.
