Commercial Project of the Year

WINNER – ELECTRIC RESULTS PTY LTD (SOUTH AUSTRALIA)

Electric Results have produced a project in multiple stages to a successful completion with consideration for maintaining the continual operation of a hospital in South Australia. The process included many challenging degrees of power isolation during the redevelopment maintaining critical clinical services to many parts of the hospital in multi-disciplines

 


Women in Contracting 

WINNER – ROBINA SAMIOS , R JAY ELECTRICAL SERVICES (SOUTH QLD)

Robina’s journey in the electrical contracting industry began 13 years ago.  Initially commencing as an apprentice manager, she has worked her way up to become General Manager and now Director of the business. Robina is always looking for ways to be innovative and improve efficiency. She is a driven businesswoman who wants to make a difference, always striving for the highest standards within her business.

 


Industrial Project of the Year

WINNER – BRITTON ELECTRICAL SOLUTIONS (VICTORIA)

This project involved a ‘state of the art’ AVL dyno system, upgrade of an onsite transformer, a new 6-meter-long main switchboard, significant cabling between all the site infrastructure. This was an outstanding example of the application of prior planning and preparation to ensure the successful outcome of a difficult multi-faceted project.

 


Energy Efficiency Project of the Year

WINNER – HIGH YIELD SOLAR (AES TASMANIA PTY LTD)

This project consisted of a 200KW wave energy converter that produces low-cost renewable electricity. The wave energy can be integrated into microgrids to reduce the need for significant battery storage due the relative predictability and consistency of wave energy (compared to wind and solar).

Nathan’s confidence and guts to do a job like this was a clear standout. A unique project using a combination of wind, waves, and sun to produce energy.


Residential Project of the Year

WINNER – ARGUS TECHNOLOGIES (VICTORIA)

The nominated project is a spectacular example of Integrated electrical and communication services using quality products and great teamwork installed during very tight COVID restrictions. Advanced IT and technical solutions to drive the home have placed Argus Technologies in a high category of expertise, all electrical contractors can aspire to achieve.

 


Apprentice of the Year

WINNER – AXEL YOUNG, ARGUS TECHNOLOGIES (VICTORIA)

Alex impressed with his quiet and efficient approach to the challenge. Attention to detail, labelling, presentation and how far he progressed in the challenge were excellent. Alex was a standout candidate clear winner for the National award. Pure Electrical & Air are in good hands with Alex.

 


Lance Cislowski Memorial Award – Electrician (Tradie) of the Year

WINNER – ALEX MACPHAIL, PURE ELECTRICAL & AIR (WESTERN AUSTRALIA)

Alex impressed the judges with his quiet and efficient approach to the challenge. His attention to detail, labelling, presentation and how far he progressed in the challenge was excellent. Alex was a standout candidate and clear winner for the national award. Pure Electrical & Air are in good hands with Alex.

 


National Safety Award

WINNER – MODERN INNOVATION ELECTRICAL (SOUTH AUSTRALIA)

This year, we are introducing a new award – A National Safety Award. This was created for the MEA skills challenge to be awarded to a standout candidate who demonstrated the qualities of a Master Electrician towards safety. Factors taken into consideration included safe work practices, attitude to work, attention to detail and safety philosophy. Over the course of 6 challenges across 5 states all candidates were monitored and probed on these qualities. The winner, Angus West made a significant impression on the judge as a fine example of what a tradesperson should be, when safety is part of their DNA.

 


Master Electrician of the Year

WINNER – FOSTER’S SERVICES (WESTERN AUSTRALIA)

This business boasts many qualities and operates in a challenging niche market. It’s agile, adapting to various situations, including working closely with frontline services during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Requiring a unique skillset, employees are encouraged to participate in the development of new technologies. With a strong focus on renewables, they have moved some of their fleet to Hybrid Electric vehicles and one Renault Electric van. The Judging panel were blown away by what this business has achieved and wish you even more success in the future.
