    Salary: $101,947 – $112,849 per annum + super

    About the role:

    An ongoing opportunity has arisen within NSW Fair Trading’s Building Specialist Compliance Unit.

    This position is primarily responsible for inspections, investigations and education within the electrical industry.  You will be required to undertake proactive targeted operations and education campaigns to ensure and enhance compliance with the Electrical and Gas (Consumer Safety) Act 2017 and Regulation 2018.

    As a Senior Electrical Inspector will provide specialist regulatory knowledge and skills within the electrical industry and be focused on the regulation and compliance of electrical installations.

    An exciting opportunity exists for a suitably qualified, motivated and reliable person to join our professional team as an Electrical Inspector based in the North of Tasmania (Launceston & Surrounds)

    To be considered for this role you must possess the below inherent skills and attributes to ensure your success:

    • A Licensed Electrical Practitioner (electrician)
    • A minimum 5 years post electrical trade working in the general electrical contracting industry
    • Sound knowledge in the application and interpretation of relevant Australian Standards, particularly AS/NZS 3000 ” The Wiring Rules”
    • Knowledgeable in all relevant Tasmanian electrical safety legislation
    • Able to work independently and also as a part of a productive team
    • Able to demonstrate a strong work ethic and a willingness to complete work outside of normal business hours
    • Physically able to inspect all required parts of an electrical installation
    • Physically able to work at height
    • Meet all the requirements of the Department of Justice to be appointed as an Authorised Officer under the Electricity Industry Safety and Administration Act and the Occupational Licensing Act
    • Excellent communication skills, effective planning and organizational skills
    • A current, unrestricted car driver’s license
