Master Electricians Australia appoints policy and advocacy expert to CEO role

Brisbane – 2 April 2024

Master Electricians Australia is pleased to announce it has appointed experienced construction industry advocate and policy expert Kate Raymond as its Chief Executive Officer, following a nation-wide recruitment exercise.

President Peter Matthews said the Master Electricians Australia Board was delighted to have secured a candidate of Ms Raymond’s calibre, and was very confident she would lead the organisation to great achievements on behalf of members.

“Ms Raymond will join us later this month from Master Builders Queensland, where she has served as General Manager, Advocacy & Policy since July 2022,” Mr Matthews said.

“She brings 25 years’ industry, government and legal experience, primarily within the building, construction and property industries.

“Before her current role she worked with the Australia Constructors Association and the Queensland Building and Construction Commission.

“Across those various roles she has been closely involved in strategic policy development, government and industry collaboration, and advocacy on behalf of industry members.

“These skills will be invaluable to Master Electricians Australia.  We already enjoy the most recognisable brand among electrical contracting association, and over many decades we have developed deep and productive relationships with governments and other industry bodies across the nation.

“We are very confident that Ms Raymond will build on our strong brand and reputation, and that Master Electricians Australia will continue to prosper and grow under her leadership.

“We’re also sure that as our first female CEO, she will bring a new perspective to managing the team and culture within the organisation, which will have positive flow-on effects for members and the wider industry.”

Ms Raymond will commence in the role on April 29.
