Celebrating the 2021 Excellence Awards

The Electrical Industry Excellence Awards is the industry’s pre-eminent award series, designed to celebrate and showcase the quality of our industry!

Businesses and individuals in the electrical contracting industry submitted nominations across the following fields to showcase their achievements, hard work, skills and talents across the following categories:

Master Electrician of the Year
Presented to a Company who has shown a commitment to professionalism, quality, safety and the industry that stands them apart from their peers.

Electrician (Tradie) of the Year
Presented to an Electrician who has outstanding technical skills, has a commitment to ongoing learning (upskilling) and safety, all of which stands them apart from their peers (judging included a practical and skills challenge).

Apprentice of the Year
Recognising a well-rounded electrical apprentice, focusing on technical skills, educational aptitude, workplace contributions, health and safety compliance, team and leadership skills and extracurricular activities including community involvement(judging included a practical and skills challenge) .

Women in Contracting
Presented to an outstanding female in a management, leadership or support role within the electrical contracting industry. These women often provide a variety of functions within the business including sales, HR, administration, marketing, PR, finance and much more

Residential Project of the Year
Covers a single residential project in the domestic sector where the applicant’s contract value is less than $1 million

Industrial Project of the Year
Covers all Industrial and Mining projects regardless of the applicant’s contract value

Commercial Project of the Year
Covers all commercial projects regardless of the applicant’s contract value

Skills Challenge

Judging of the Electrician (Tradie) of the Year and Apprentice of the Year applicants consisted of a live practical and theory skills challenge, thanks to Schneider Electric.  Here are a few highlights of the skills challenge, capturing participants across Australia:
